AVID has announced a brand new member of the Pro Tools HD family - Pro Tools HD Native

Native fills the gap between Pro Tools LE, and full-blown Pro Tools HD Accel DSP-based systems.

Shipping in November, but available for preorder today, Pro Tools HD Native is an FGPA-based host card which allows you to run full Pro Tools HD sessions, without TDM plugins.

The Native card has two of the newer minature DigiLink connectors for up to 64 channels of audio inputs and outputs using any Pro Tools HD, Apogee Symphony or Lynx Aurora audio interface and a serial port for SYNC HD connection.

The card ships with Pro Tools HD 8.5 software, and also supports ASIO and Core Audio drivers for use with Cubase, Nuendo and Logic Pro.
