"From my facilities at Barham Studios, in Universal City (at the top of Barham boulevard) my company Pacific Wave Media has been providing audio mixing, sweetening, as well as local and remote recording services to the commercial, television and film communities for more than 14 years.
My current and past clients include Warner Bros., Lionsgate, New Line Cinema, Discovery Networks, A&E Television, PBS, FX, Lifetime Television, WeTV, American Express, Lexus, Microsoft, DirecTV, AOL, AARP, Experian and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Discovery Center
Most recently I did the mixing for the TV Advertising trailers Orphan (directed by Jaume Collet-Serra), & Watchmen (directed by Zack Snyder). I also just finished the DVD Value Added Bonus Features for the Golden Globe nominated Brothers (directed by Jim Sheridan).
In a sentence, I take the edited audio provide to me by off-line post and bring it to life. More specifically, I mix, sweeten and augment existing and added audio with a focus on enhancing what the audience sees by enhancing what they hear.
2009 saw a facility wide technology roll out at Barham Studios, starting with a total rebuild of the machine room; adding HDCam and HDCamSR decks, Dolby E encoding, 5.1 mix as well as remote recording capabilities in our main audio bay. We also built another audio bay, 3 HD (Avid and FCP) color/finishing bays, as well as moved and centralized all CPUs to the machine room allowing any bay in the house to access any technology via KVM switch networking.
On the advice and direction of our audio equipment vendor, RSPE, the audio department’s major roll out of 2009 what the implementation of the latest generation of Cedar’s DNS3000 Dialogue Noise Suppressor. The DNS3000 eliminates wide range of noise from recordings and live transmissions. This has been a major selling point to new and existing clients, especially with our non-scripted and documentary clients who do a lot of ‘running guns’ shooting resulting in unusual and sometimes extreme audio fix and noise issues.
Brad Lieberman and the RSPE crew have played a major roll in our 2009 technology roll out and up grades by being not only a good advisor, but by helping us to pair the right hardware with the right software. Over the years RSPE has turned in to a true ‘value add’ partner.
